GUIDELINES FOR OPENING A BRANCH OF BANAE  (Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar National Association of Engineers) 


INTRODUCTION 

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar National Association of Engineers (BANAE) is a registered as Not-for-Profit (NGO) organization under the Mumbai Public Trust Act 1950 and Society’s Registration Act 1860. It has been formed by a group of highly motivated and dedicated Ambdkarite engineers on 1st October 1988 in Mumbai. 

Any Indian citizen belonging to engineering profession and  having  faith in the ideology and philosophy of Vishwaratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and in the constitutional principles of liberty, equality, fraternity and justice and having strong passion and desire to work for upliftment of downtrodden and underprivileged communities, can become member of BANAE. Membership application can be filled online through our website www.banae.org as well as offline at any branch. Indian Citizen of engineering profession can join this organization as a primary member by paying Rs.100/- as annual membership along-with  Rs. 5/- as admission fees. An Engineer who would like to join as a life member can do so by paying  Rs.1005/- (Rs.1000/-life membership fee and Rs 5/- as admission fee). Person desirous of joining BANAE is requested to apply online and make necessary payment towards membership fees. He or she will be issued a certificate of membership after accepting membership application. Those who do not fulfil membership criteria, their fees will be refunded.  


HOW TO OPEN A BANAE BRANCH   

I.  A branch can be opened in a district or a city of a geographically convenient location in any State or Union Territory of India.  

II. To open a branch, minimum condition is 25 members (Engineers: Diploma / Degree) shall come together, fill-up membership form and one of the person could take lead to work as  convener to open a BANAE branch in that particular district or city area. He or she needs to  write to the National President/Secretary General  on banae.nec@gmail.com or send request  on the following address.

III.  All the engineering professionals interested in becoming member of BANAE can fill up he membership form online and pay online fee. Membership form can be submitted offline to convener of the proposed branch. The fee can be deposited in account opened in any Nationalised bank for the proposed branch. If the membership fee is paid online, then, the branch share of the membership fee will be transferred to branch once the branch is formally established. As well as state body share will be transferred to state body if state body is existing in that state.  

IV. The convener is required to send the details of members in that district and get confirmation from NEC/SEC along with membership fee details. He/She shall seek permission to open BANAE branch. Upon receiving request for opening a branch, President/Secretary General of National Executive Committee will inform the decision of NEC to open a branch in that area and will suggest to hold a meeting  of all desirous members on a predetermined date, time and place where NEC will send an authorized representative to work as observer of BANAE NEC and guide a new branch. Upon receiving report of NEC representative, NEC President/Secretary General will declare the branch opened and the new ad hoc body will be authorized to function for six months. After the completion of six months period, the ad hoc body will have to hold regular elections of the branch with the permission of NEC for which all provisions of bylaws are applicable.

I __________________ (convenor) on behalf of all the members of the proposed BANAE __________ branch are having faith in the ideology and philosophy of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, desire  to open a branch of BANAE in ______________ district, _______________ state. In order to formally open BANAE branch in our district it is planned to hold a meeting of all the registered members. 
We are enclosing the list of members registered till date for the formation of ______________branch. Copies of the membership forms is also attached herewith. We are also enclosing the transaction details of NEC and SEC subscription share.  
We, therefore, request you to permit us to open BANAE  branch for which a meeting  is scheduled on ___________(date) ________(time), at ___________________________ __________ (venue). 
Kindly convey the name and contact details of NEC/SEC observer for the meeting.

PROCEDURE TO HOLD MEETING  
 

The Convener of the proposed branch shall obtain permission from President/Secretary NEC/SEC to call a meeting to decide and select ad-hoc body/committee for the proposed branch.  

Issue notice to all members clearly indicating the agenda to open a branch for selecting an ad-hoc body in the meeting of members. Maintain a register of attendance and minutes of meeting.  

Following are the post to be filled in a district/city branch of BANAE (ad hoc or by elections)

8. Students representative-2 (President and Secretary of student branch are co-opted as Executive Members)  
Total =11 members  
(If 50 or more students of engineering come together, a student branch could be formed under the guidance of the district branch)

STATE LEVEL BRANCH OPENING GUIDELINES 
 

To form a State Executive Committee or a State Branch, minimum two branches in a state are required to open a State Branch. Kindly refer bylaws of BANAE for the purpose.
