BANAE would like to  inform that 16/5/1984 GR of Govt of Maharashtra has been revised with effect from 26th July 2011 by the Ministry of social Justice and Sp.Assistance.

ACJP & BANAE has been following up the issue for last 5 yrs with the Social Justice Ministry and Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission.

A case no.2346/2007-08 was filed with the State Human Rights Commission for for improving conditions,facilities and provisions  in  271  hostels run by the Ministry of Social Justice and Special assistance,Govt of Maharashtra.SHRC issued directions to the State Govt for revision of 1984 GR and bring good facilities for proper conductive educational environment and good lodging and boarding facilities. ACJP & BANAE visited several govt hostels in different part of the sate and documented the problems faced by the students living in the hostels. ACJP submitted a 23 point charter to the Social Justice Ministry on 22/9/2008 and since then was in continuous followup of the issue.

Finally a high power committee meeting was called by the Chief Secretary in presence of Finance Secretary,Social Justice secretary, Director of Social welfare and Dr Ambedkar Research and Training Institute and representatives of ACJP& BANAE  on 18th July 2011 at Mantralaya and historical decisions were taken.

NEW HOSTEL GR FOR INMATES OF GOVT HOSTELS IN MAHARASHTRA STATE

GR No.SCH2010/CaseNo.430/BCC4 dated 26th July 2011 Ministry of Social Justice and Sp.Assistance

1)Now hostel inmates will ge unlimited food ,good breakfast( 2 eggs,appeal,a seasonal fruit,upma/pohe/usal and 200 ml good milk with sugar).Non veg will be served twice a week.Green salad and 50 gms pure ghee will be served every day in all hostels allover the state..

2)Pocket money revised as under;

Taluka hostel -revised from Rs 50/- to Rs.500/-

District Hostel- revised from Rs.75/- to 600/-

Division level hostel-revised from Rs.Rs.200/- to Rs.800/-

In addition to this all girls will receive Rs.100/- per month for sanitary items.

3)School dress -Rs 500/-- per annum

4)College students will receive Rs.1000/- for 2 set of dress where dress code exists per annum.

5)For medical students to get Rs.2500/- for apron and stethoscope per annum.

6)Engineering students for boiler suit Rs.500/- per annum.

7)Engineering students to receive Rs 2500/- for drawing board etc per annam

8)Lab apron for students Rs.500/- per annum

9)Physical Training student to get Rs.4000/- for sports dress per annum.

10)Rain coat and Umbrela Rs.500/- per annum.

11)Arts such as drawing,design,commerce and science degree and diploma students to receive Rs.4000/- per annuam of equipments s such as drawing pens,pencils and other special equip.

12)Educational tour Rs 2000/- per annum

13)Personality development training- Rs.500/- per annum

14)Writing project report Rs.1000/- per annum

15)Annual gathering and entertainment items RS.25000/- per annum  per hostel

16) Sports Equipment-Rs.10000/- per annual per hostel

17) Each hostel to get a colour TV of 40-50 inches size and Rs .10000/-for dish antenna or paid channel

18) Each hostel to get AQUA GUARD and WATER COOLER with AMC contract for maintenance

19) Each hostel will have computers(1 for every 10 students) with Internet connection. A printer will also be provided.Maintenance on AMC basis.

20) Annual income ceiling will be Rs.2 lakh as existing  for GOI scholarship.As and when Central Govt will revise the ceiling,it will be  automatically applicable to hostel GR.

21) Pest control every six months.

22) Solar water heater for bath.

23) Inverter for electricity.

24)Separate modern and updated library and reading room with LCD computer,Internet,all furniture,E-Library facilities,5 news papers and 10 magazines in English and Marathi -Rs.2/- lackh per annum per hostel

25)Parents /Guardian meeting twice  annually and Rs.10000/- for each meeting as meeting expenses

26)It is now mandatory for Warden to visit school/college  of inmate students twice a year .

27)Thoughts of great social thinkers on the walls on each hostel.

28)BC cooperatives and Women's Savings Groups will be given priority while giving contract of mess and other contracts as per 46 of the Indian Constitution.

29) GR will be revised every after 5 yrs.
