As u are aware , BANAE have been consulting various  scholars,academics,activists,students ,administrators and politicians  from different parties on issues  of Maharashtra Overseas Scholarships for Scheduled Caste Community.

Two days webinar with the support of Ambedkar Avaitors Group and Harward Ambedkarites wes organized on 30-31 MAY 2020 where 28 panelists had given their suggestions to improve the scheme  for large  benefit of nearly 20 million Scheduled caste and Buddhist in Maharashtra. We compiled all suggestions  and a memorandum has been sent by email to Hon.Shri Dhananjay Munde, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt of Maharashtra. 

Our demand is to withdraw Rs.6 lakhs annual income criteria ,  raise number of scholarships  from 75 to 500 to feel up higher education backlog for last several  decades.we have also asked to streamline award of scholarships and do away unnecessary hurdles posed by old GR .

A separate request letter has been sent to Hon.Chief Minister Shri. Uddhav Thakre for immediate  action so that students  who have offer and selected in top foreign universities can apply for scholarships  and join there in MASTERS and Ph.D courses in time or else they will lose  their opportunity this year as considerable time has been lost.

We hope that Hon.Minister and Chief Minister will certainly take call on this issue and take positive steps for accepting  our recommendations and issue immediate new modified GR and advertisement  for overseas scholarships for Scheduled castes students for 2020-21.
